About the Sherman County Courthouse

Built in 1899, this "Queen Anne style" Courthouse serves as the hub for Sherman County's business, residents, developers, commissioners, and court cases. There are distinct four courts within this historic brick building in Moro, Oregon (Sherman County’s “county seat”):

Directions to the Sherman County Courthouse

  • When coming from I-84 either westbound or eastbound:
    Travel to Biggs Junction at milepost 104. If you are coming from the east, take the off ramp and turn left (southbound) on Highway 97. If you are coming from the west, take the off ramp and turn right (southbound) on Highway 97. Moro, Oregon, is located 18 miles from Biggs Junction. When you arrive in Moro, you will see the Bank of Eastern Oregon on the right. It is located on Highway 97 and Fourth Street. There is a courthouse sign at that corner directing you up the hill. Turn right and go to the top of the hill and turn right on Court Street. The Courthouse is the predominate building on the left. Handicap parking is located at the rear of the building, and all other parking is in front.
  • When you are coming on Highway 97 northbound:
    Travel to Moro, Oregon, which is located at milepost 19. Drive through until you reach Highway 97 and Fourth Street. You will see the Bank of Eastern Oregon on your left. There is a court house sign at that corner directing you up the hill. Turn left and go to the top of the hill and turn right on Court Street. The Courthouse is the predominate building on the left. Handicap parking is located at the rear of the building, and all other parking is in front.
