The Sherman County Community Development & Planning Department performs all functions relating to the principles and practices of Oregon Land Use planning for Sherman County, including processing applications and inquiries regarding Land Use Planning. The Planning Commission meets as needed, often on the second Monday of the month.

The goals of this department are to encourage the most appropriate use of land; aid in the provision of county services; conserve and stabilize the value of property; encourage the orderly growth of the County; and, in general, to promote the public health, safety, convenience, and general welfare through the implementation of the County's Comprehensive Land Use Plan.
