Do I have noxious weeds on my property? If so, what do I do about them?

Contact the Sherman County Weed District, which  is responsible for preventing the establishment and spread of noxious weeds in accordance with State, Federal, and County weed laws through development of weed control measures. The Weed District Supervisor can help you identify and map out a plan to control noxious weeds on your land.

What rules govern ethics in government?

When is the Sherman County Fair?

The Sherman County Fair is generally held the third week of August. Check the fair website for details, shermancountyfairfun.com. Fairbooks are available in the Extension office and post offices in the county during the summer if you would like to prepare an entry for consideration for a county fair prize.

Where is the Sherman County Circuit Court?

Sherman County Circuit Court is held inside the Sherman County Courthouse at 500 Court Street in Moro (send mail to PO Box 402, Moro, OR 97039). Circuit court hours are 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Here are the ADA Accommodations: ADA services that OJD offers.

How do I add an upcoming event to the county calendar?

You easily can submit your event through Sherman County’s online Add an Event form.  The event will be reviewed by the Sherman County Court Administrative Assistant before publication. Events are added to the countywide events calendar as space allows or at the administrative assistant’s discretion.

Are there any ghost towns in Sherman County?

You can visit an Old West “ghost town” in Kent, an unincorporated area in southwest Sherman county (see photos of the Kent ghost town at the Pacific NW Photo blog). If you continue south, there’s another ghost town just outside Sherman County in Shaniko, Oregon.
