How do I run for office?

Contact the County Clerk’s Office to express your intent to run. The County Clerk can guide you through the process.

How do I change my mailing address?

Postal address change forms are online. If you’re not yet in town, but your mail is, sign up for https://informeddelivery.usps.com/box/pages/intro/start.action to receive scanned images of the mail being delivered to your new address.

Am I eligible for the Mission Act Program?

If you are enrolled in VA medical care — and live in Gilliam, Sherman, or Wheeler counties — then you probably are. Can I get hearing aids from the VA?

Possibly. You must have a service-connected hearing loss disability or be enrolled in Veterans Affairs medical care. Email veteranservice@co.sherman.or.us or call (541) 705-0051 to enroll in VA medical care.

What sort of cases are handled by the Sherman County Justice Court?

Sherman County Justice Court is the judicial branch of county government. It processes citations issued by law enforcement agencies for traffic violations, boating violations, fish and game violations, and other civil violations. The Court also handles small claims and eviction actions, and the Court’s Justice of the Peace performs weddings as the schedule permits.
